The alpine longhorn beetle is one of the most magnificent beetles in Europe. It rates as one most worthy of protection. The trail passes through woods and fields in the beetle's habitat. The two-hour trail starts with a short documentary film.

For half a century, the Alpine longhorn beetle was thought to be extinct in the region. The habitat of the beetle is explained in greater detail on the information panels, as is the reason for its endangerment. The trail begins with a short documentary film in the tourist bureau and leads from the Oey-Diemtigen railway station to the Burgholz railway station.
