Parco botanico del Cantone Ticino

Venue

Parco botanico del Cantone Ticino,
6614 Brissago

The Islands of Brissago are located at the heart of the region known as Insubria, an ancient land once inhabited by the Insubres, a Celtic tribe which occupied the area between the River Po and the pre-Alpine lakes from the 4th century BC.

Isole di Brissago

Immersed in the waters of the Verbano (local name for this part of Lake Maggiore), which accumulate heat during the summer and return it to the atmosphere in the winter, the Islands of Brissago enjoy a particularly mild, subtropical climate with only a few days of frost occurring a year.
Over 1,700 species from the Mediterranean, subtropical Asia, South Africa, the Americas and Oceania thrive in the gardens, meaning that in two hours you can travel right around the world.
