The Mont Terri Project is an international research project for the hydrogeological, geochemical and geotechnical characterisation of a clay formation (Opalinus Clay). Clay formations are being considered in various countries for the deep geological disposal of radioactive waste. The rock laboratory is dedicated solely to research. There is no question of radioactive waste being disposed of here.

Mont Terri : Laboratoire

Standard programme 45-minute introduction in the visitors centre 15-minute transfer by minibus to the rock laboratory 90-minute guided tour of the rock laboratory, including transfer back to the station.

The recommended size for groups from 8 people. Tours lasting approx. 2½ hours will be held either in the morning or in the afternoon, preferably on working days. The best way to reach us is by train. The meeting point is at St-Ursanne railway station. To arrange a visit, please contact the visit coordinator by E-Mail "info@mont-terri.ch" or by phone Nr. +41 32 461 20 40 at least one month in advance to request a registration form.
