Geological excursion in the Nature Park
From Erschmatt to Leuk, the panorama over the Rhone Valley takes you on a journey through time: from the last great ice age to the present day.
Taking the time to read and understand the geological landscape means taking a journey of several million years. Crossing crystalline and sedimentary geological formations, this excursion offers a unique panorama of the side valleys of the Rhône Valley, whose morphology dates back to the last great ice age. It also offers a spectacular view of the Illgraben, the largest erosion area in the Alps.
The excursion starts in Erschmatt and ends at Leuk railway station. Please note that if you arrive by car, the group will not walk back to Erschmatt.
Equipment: Weather appropriate clothing, good shoes, drinks, picnic (lunch). Walking time: approx. 3 hours in several stages / Minimum age: 10 years /
Registration: Is required before 5 p.m. on Friday.
