Nature Festival: Eurasian Hoopoe - the punk among the birds

The Brentjong plateau is best known for its large satellite dishes. What is less well known is the rich mosaic of habitats right next to it, home to many specialised plants and animals. On this walk through the area, we will be focusing on the birds, with a particular focus on the Eurasian Hoopoe, which nests here every year. Other bird species such as the red-backed shrike, cirl bunting and cuckoo, typical of this diverse farmland, should also make an appearance. We'll also be looking up to see the many birds of prey that regularly fly over this region, including the short-toed snake eagle. One or two surprise guests will certainly round off this exciting excursion.
